Hi, I’m Steve Rude.

I’ve been taking things apart and writing code since I was 8, and I started my first web development company with two friends at 16. Since then I’ve been part of amazing teams that helped build companies big and small, from unicorns like Riot Games and Bird Scooters to startups like Atlas, MagicSchool AI, and Zwift.

In 2024, I started Rude Company, a full-service boutique agency for building great products with a human touch.

The best work starts when you deeply understand what a brand needs. So let’s discuss what your needs are and see how I can help.

So, what are you working on?

What people are saying

“Steve is the proverbial 10X engineer. The type of talent often talked about but rarely found—a true unicorn. Whether you’re looking for an engineering manager or GSD individual contributor, I would give the highest possible recommendation to working with Steve.”

Things I sell.

Apps I use myself, AI that actually ships, technology and business help for the gnarly parts, and marketing that doesn’t lie.

Big things coming soon™

Launching two new apps in November 2026!

I’m heads down on two apps of my own. The skeleton crew is on it: a wall of terminals, way too much coffee and zero sleep. Good thing he doesn’t need any.

Giving back

A business that gives back.

Rude Company is a business. I charge for my work, and I run it to grow. I also believe in helping out the community, so a portion of what Rude Company earns goes to Polite Foundation, my nonprofit for charitable works.

The for-profit side

Rude Company
earns.

I sell apps, AI, consulting and content. A share of what I make funds the Foundation, and I build its software on fair terms.

The nonprofit side Coming Q1 2027

Polite Foundation
gives.

It funds programs and grants that help reduce suffering and spread kindness.

Polite Foundation

Kindness, put to work.
